Plowing

Hosea 10:12 “Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until He comes and showers righteousness on you.”

Guidance

"And your ears shall hear a word behind you saying, "This is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left." |Isaiah 30:21|

This is what my life has been described as for the past several years, but especially the last couple of months. It is amazing how God literally tells us what the next step to take is as long as we are listening to Him. Although it can be frustrating to not see what is  ahead, sometimes it is the best. I will never forget my friend Sara describing a time when she went to the beach and the path she was taking seemed to take her deeper into the forest AWAY from the beach, but it was beautiful and ended up bringing her to the beach. How many times has it seemed like the Lord is taking us farther from where we want to go or where we think He is leading us only to bring us right to it (in a different way). I love how unbelievably faithful our Father is.

Rock

"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."  |Psalm 118:24|  

Happy Birthday to my best friend and roommate Sara! A beautiful, young woman whose deepest desire is to be in communion with her Heavenly Father. What a blessing she is to so many!

"He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is my God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us." |Psalm 62:6-7|

Victory

The theme of today has been "We have victory in Christ!" I think so often we forget that the battle is already won. I read these verses tonight and was just reminded that when we are battling, we will ALWAYS have God on our side as long as we have accepted Christ into our lives." 

Acts 2:25-28

"I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken; therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; my flesh also will dwell in hope. For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence."

Waiting

Isaiah 30:18 

"Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him." 

I was so blessed yesterday to receive this from my aunt's mom. She doesn't know me that well, but I guess she asks my mom how I am doing every once in a while and somehow the topic came up about waiting for the right guy to come along and how she had been in a similar position with friends all around her getting married, but not her. She said that during that time, this was a verse that she clung to. 

I definitely tend to struggle with not being married. It isn't that I don't trust the Lord or that I think that He is holding out on me. My struggle tends to be that I long for what I was created for: to be a wife and a mom. For as long as I can remember, I have loved kids and could not wait until the day that I got to have kids of my own. I also have longed to be the helpmate to a man...my husband. That is not God's plan for me at this point in my life. To say that it is not something I struggle with would be a lie. It is a constant surrender to the Lord and trusting that He knows better than I do what is right for me and when. I love how He so deliberately gave me this verse on a day I didn't happen to be struggling. As if to give me the tools I would need WHEN I struggle. It is not an "if", but "when". I am so thankful that God is always looking out for us and preparing us for what lies ahead.

Jeremiah 33:3

"Call to me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known."

We have access to the Lord anytime of day or night. Something I need to constantly remember.
