The day has finally arrived....my niece Arianna Guinevere Kirkpatrick arrived at 9:21 am today. She is so beautiful and such a sweet girl. It was a privilege to be able to be a part of the experience (my sister-in-law decided to have a home birth) and meet my beautiful niece right after she was born. Tears were shed and it was a crazy and beautiful experience.
I absolutely LOVE being an aunt (as if it wasn't obvious already, but this just added to it. I just LOVE my niece so much. I love how God has given me a special place in my heart for this little girl. I can't wait to see her grow up! But, God also gave me a few other gems today in this process:
-I got to talk to Arianna when she was still in the tub with her mom. When I spoke, she turned towards me. Such a SPECIAL time for me.
-I got to be the first one to hold her (besides her parents and the midwives).
- I got to spend some good one on one time (about 20 min. or so) while her parents wanted to get some rest. (They ended up deciding that they wanted to have her in there because they missed her.)
I cannot wait to take this girl on girly dates, do her nails and hair and lavish God's love on her as a daughter of the King.
Another beautiful girl has entered the world!
